About Kristin Robert

With more than 17 years of experience in mental health and addiction care, I bring not only clinical expertise but also deep empathy and respect for every story shared in my office.

My journey in leadership began as the Executive Director of a highly regarded Malibu detox and residential treatment center, supporting people through substance use, trauma, and complicated mental health experiences.

This foundation taught me that every person’s challenges are unique, and so is their capacity for healing.

My Approach

Education has always fueled my passion for understanding human behavior and for fostering meaningful change. My credentials include:

  • Associate of Arts in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Pierce College

  • Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from Antioch University

  • Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute (specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, and Depth Psychology)

Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders, disordered eating, suicidal ideation, psychosis, and risky or compulsive behaviors.

I have also supported clients navigating medication adherence, family dynamics, and identity development.

I always consider the larger systems that shape a person’s inner and outer world, recognizing that we are not shaped in isolation, but in relationship to our environments, histories, and communities.

While professional credentials matter, therapy is ultimately about connection. I aim to bring intelligence, attunement, and grounded presence into the room. Healing occurs in a safe space where you can speak your truth.

Whether you are seeking support for grief, addiction, depression, or navigating difficult emotions and patterns, I am here to help you “navigate the space between.”

Together, we can work through painful chapters, rediscover hope, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and whole.

About Kristin Robert

Outside the Office

Therapy with me is about making real connections, so it’s only fair you know something personal about me too.

My life is enriched by two wonderful dogs: Maddox, a young shepherd mix, and Munch, a 10- year wise old terrier. They remind me daily of the power of presence and comfort.
